Fees

Where trading fees come from and where to see them before you trade.

Trading fees

Perpetual trades pay a maker fee (your order was resting on the book) or a taker fee (your order filled against the book). The rates are set by the exchange and can differ between markets and over time. This page therefore shows no numbers; the app shows the live rates.

  • Before you trade: the Fees row under the order form shows the current rates as taker% / maker%.
  • After you place an order: the confirmation shows an Est. Fee in dollars, worked out at the higher of the maker and taker rates (left out when the rate is unknown). The fee actually charged appears on each fill in Trade History.
  • "-" instead of a rate: the app could not load the fee rate. While the rate is unknown, the form cannot compute your buying power, so the maximum size is unavailable. Wait a moment or reload.

The order form reserves the opening fee in Required Margin, using the higher of the maker and taker rates.

Funding

Perpetual positions also pay or receive funding. Funding is not a fee: it is exchanged between longs and shorts.
